Jerry M. Carter, Jr. is a man who is profoundly committed to the Lord. His obedience to the Holy Spirit led him to become the fourteenth pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, Morristown, New Jersey in November of 1990. Since then, hundreds of men, women, and children have been drawn into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His ability to preach and teach has cultivated spiritual maturity within the congregation. He also has taught several liturgical classes at Princeton and Drew University.

Rev. Carter was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Denison University, in Granville, Ohio. In May of 1990 he completed the Master of Divinity Degree at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey In October of 2007, Pastor Carter received his Doctorate of Philosophy Degree from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.

He is married to Melisa Rooks Carter, a loving union which has been blessed with three children,
